John Coletsos is an Associate Professor of Mathematics at the School of Applied Mathematical and Physical Sciences of the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA).
He received his Diploma in Mathematics and his Master of Sciences in Informatics and Operational Research from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and his PhD in Optimal Control from the National Technical University of Athens.
His research focuses on Optimal Control, Optimization, Numerical Analysis, Operational Research and Air Traffic Management.
His research has been published in leading international journals on Optimization, Applied Mathematics and Operational Research.
He has been a speaker in numerous international conferences, such as the Conference on Systems, Modeling and Optimization, Cambridge, U.K., the Conference of the International Federation of Operational Research Societies at Barcelona, the Conference of Optimal Control and Dynamic Games at Wien, the Conference on System Modeling and Optimization at Trier, Germany, etc.
His teaching experience is: 38 years undergraduate courses on Numerical Analysis, Numerical Methods for Partial Differential Equations and Operational Research at most of the Schools of the National Technical University of Athens, 19 years postgraduate courses on advanced Numerical Analysis, Operational Research I and Operational Research II at the School of Applied Mathematical and Physical Sciences at the National Technical University of Athens and 14 years at the Hellenic Open University.
He is also the Supervisor of more than 60 undergraduate and 20 post graduate diploma thesis as well as one PHD thesis mostly on Optimization and Operational Research.
