Vassilis Papanicolaou is a Professor in the Department of Mathematics of the School of Applied Mathematical and Physical Sciences of the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA).
He received his Diploma in Electrical Engineering from NTUA, his M.Sc. in Mathematics from the Courant Institute of Mathematical Sciences of the New York University, and his PhD in Mathematics from Stanford University.
He has worked as an Assistant Professor at Duke University and as an Assistant & Associate Professor at Wichita State University.
His research interests focus on the areas of Stochastic Analysis and Spectral Theory of Differential Operators.
His research has been published in leading international journals of Mathematics and Mathematical Physics and has been funded by NSF, the National Research Council, the Whitaker Foundation, and by some Greek Grants.
He has been an invited speaker in numerous international conferences.
